The family dentist provides comprehensive dental care, coordinates dental activities, and provides clinical supervision to dental hygienists and dental assistants.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides day-to-day clinical supervision of dental hygienists and assistants.
  • Provides general dentistry services inclusive of patient education, examinations, preventive care, direct and indirect restorative treatments, tooth extractions and any other dental procedures.
  • Build long-term relationships with patients and a positive connection with the Native American community.
  • Provides emergency care and is accessible to patients in active treatment in case of an emergency.
  • Directs preparation and maintenance of dental records.
  • Assists in planning, developing and implementing dental care maintenance programs.
  • Assists in developing clinic procedures and protocols.
  • Participates in patient care review, evaluation, and monitoring activities as indicated to assure quality patient care.
  • Adherence to federal, state and organizational regulations and guidelines for the provision of dental services.
  • Adherence to infection control protocols and patient privacy regulations as delineated by the organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.
  • Current Texas dental license.
  • Nitrous oxide certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience preferred.
